Modern Family has been a literal family favorite and critically acclaimed television show practically since its birth. (If you haven't seen it already, check it out!) The show revolves around a tight-knit (albeit occasionally eccentric)
family who, despite the daily antics that - let's face it - we can all relate to, they support each other through every adventure, triumph, and general hilarity that comes their way.
"Election Day," however, is probably one of my favorite episodes because it's one of the early ones where Claire - previously a stay-at-home mom - decides to run for city council to change her community.
Claire is competitive and not afraid to show that she wants to win. She's a planner, calculating the best strategies to gain votes and fearlessly continuing on towards her dream even in the face of hardship.
Also pretty cool? Her family wholeheartedly supports her.
And even though things don't turn out quite as planned due to some unfortunate external circumstances, Claire still pursues, making all the changes she wants to in the community, changing it for the better, and vowing to run again in the years to come (Claire 2014, anyone??).
