As I was flipping through old magazines this weekend, I came across an inspiring feature in Glamour featuring their top picks for "Woman of the Year." In particular, I was drawn to Melinda Gates, who stood out among women like Lady Gaga and Kerry Washington as a fabulous woman who may not be considered celebrities but has made a huge impact.
Melinda Gates is a Woman of the Year because "As an effective and strategic leader, she's dedicated to solving the world's toughest problems." - Hillary Clinton, former secretary of state.

Melinda co-chairs the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation which is now among the largest nonprofit organizations on earth: It gave $3.4 billion in grants last year alone! Through the foundation, she tackles the world's most difficult and scary problems like polio, malaria, and domestic education.
Melinda travels a lot for her work and stands out amongst the many men she interacts with in her work!
