She is best known for her work with chimpanzees! She spent over 40 years immersed in the jungle, studying them very carefully and providing us with lots of new information.
She embarked into an unknown world and proved herself as one of the leading scientists in wildlife research. She took risks and put herself in dangerous situations with wild animals, but nothing would stop her from learning as much as she could. Fabulous.
Did you know that before Jane, scientists thought humans were the only ones who could make tools?
She gave animals she studied names like Fifi, David or Greybeard. She could tell all of the chimps apart and developed deep bonds with some of them.
Her passion and perseverance to educate us will help conserve this species and convince humans that their environment is worth saving!!
This is no small task.
Imagine the millions of different organizations people could contribute their money and help to. Jane convinced them hers is the one!
The Jane Gooddall Institute for Wildlife Research is one of the most well-known foundations in the world. Learn more here.
