Kids Don't Just Play, They Make Changes: Activism

This 14-year-old girl completely blows my mind! Snaps to McKenna for making her way to Hasboro headquarters before making her way to high school! Goofing around with her brother and an Easy-Bake-Oven was all she needed to get started. Do you ever think about colors of toys when you're playing around? You're a fabulously funny female, just like McKenna, and you should! She mentions a really cool website that she used to help her get her message out there. Check out change.org

McKenna came to the realization that even as a young teenager she is an "activist." A lot of young girls don't know what this means and sometimes the word can scare them off. I know when I was in middle school I associated an "activist" with some scary people yelling in front of the White House, getting arrested (I guess these are just all the examples we saw videos of in history class... and there was usually pretty intense music playing in the background). But in reality, spunky, outspoken, 14-year-old McKenna creating an online petition is an activist! YOU could be an activist with a few quick clicks and a cause.

What do you care about? What have you noticed in the world around you that doesn't seem quite right? Get out there are make a change! You certainly don't have to be Michelle Obama, you can just be you!
