The Winter Olympics have arrived! My favorite part of the Winter Olympics is watching the Figure Skating.

United States Figure Skater Ashley Wagner is excited to be representing the United States for the first time as an Olympian. She won US Figure Skating nationals in both 2012 and 2013 and is now ready to show her stuff in Sochi.

Just months ago Ashley changed her skating program from "Romeo and Juliet" to her "Samson and Deliah" piece. Many commentators have questioned this last minute switch (especially so close to Olympic competition).

So, what was the reason for the switch?

Ashley reports not being able to connect to the "tragic" nature of the Juliet character; instead she prefers the Deliah character from her other program. Ashley describes Delilah as "such a strong, powerful woman." The Olympian hopes to channel this energy in her competitions in Sochi.

Here is a video from 2013 of Ashley's "Samson and Delilah" program; Although her Olympic adaption will have some changes, we are excited to see Ashley take on this bold character again soon!
